What should I expect to pay for a full set of polished aluminum IC pipes?

Oh, I missed the Al specification he had there. Sry.

The only person I have seen with totally Al piping was quikstryke (sp) and he made them himself.

Hey guys,
We should have our aluminum pipes for sale in a couple weeks, just working out the details right now. They will be full mandrel bent.
Thanks

Same here, the only ones I've seen in Aluminum were custom fabbed - Trent from MVP had them at one time.

SupraJack - you're setting up to make these? Can you ballpark what the cost will be? Stock routing, or snorkel hole routing?

I come from a land down under
Drake: I bought a BIG box of mandrel bends and some straight to make my new pipes and it wasn't that expensive!

If they're using a CNC bender and have the code already they shouldn't be that much more than steel not to mention no coating costs on top!

Buying pipe was a plan I had for awhile..
I was going to get the IC mounted, buy a bunch of mandrel bends, take the front bumper off and start measuring. From there, I was going to mark the pipes at each proper angle where they are to meet and have them welded. After all of the hose pop-offs I've dealt with from 11-13psi on a CT-26, I want the least amount of couplers and clamps possible, even if I have proper silicone and T-bolt clamps. 4 or 5 couplers is my goal.
If you get a price on aluminum mandrel bends in different angles with different leg lengths, I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you will be offering, Jack. I'll be looking for 3" piping.

A box like that here would cost a few hundred dollars.

Check e-bay... look up 'ubendman' he sells almost any size mandrel bent pipes...

My ic pipes were/are aluminized steel..... since my friend didn't know how to weld aluminum that is what we had to go with.

Drake: Yep but I have enough in that box to just about make 2 sets and if you're bending in one piece it's cheaper again cos there isn't the waste pipe on the ends! (The point I'm trying to make is they shouldn't cost a lot more than steel pipes if they're made commercially)

Well, if aluminum prices are anything like they are here on your side of the pond, you will notice that aluminum is 3x the cost of mild steel. I constructed my pipes of mild steel, and it was still not very cheap, but cheaper than buying them from SS.

Raw material costs sound much the same but I think our guys gouge prices a bit on the mandrel bends :(

There wasn't a lot of difference in price between Aluminium and Steel bends.

No coating costs, but if you want them polished, that can get expensive.

I'm not making them myself, but they are going to be custom made. If more people are interested, I can ask about a group rate? Would save me some money too.

OK I have some more info on the aluminum pipes.
They are 6061 aluminum, 2.5" diameter, 6 couplers and 12 t-bolt clamps.
They will retail for $399.95. They do not come polished but will have a brushed appearance, although they will polish up nicely. We are working on offering them polished in the future.
Just let me know if you have any questions
Thanks
Jack
