You'll need a different radiator. If the 1jz stock radiator is fine then it will work, but your stock one wil not. You do not use the 1jz fuse box, but you do have to do some wiring to it. There's more guys on here that know alot more about it than I do. You'll need a different intercooler also. If you bought a full clip then you'll have most of the things needed. I'm replacing all of my gaskets and seals while I have the motor out. It's up to you though. Good luck...............lol

You may can. Like I said, I'm a complete idiot and therefore you shouldn't take anything I say that serious. Someone a little more qualified will be here to help you shortly. You will be helped in the order in which your problem was posted...................:biglaugh:

Can't i use a 7m radiator.... im using electric fans??????

I used the 7M Rad with electric fan on mine, no problems with overheating. ymmv.

I do not like the idea of using the speedo cable hole for the wiring harness, I extended mine by about 18 inches by splicing one cable at a Time so as not to get them switched, this takes a while, or you could do it this way. Be sure to do something about the OIL gage sender, the 1JZ sender does not work with the stock &M gauge and the stock 7M sender not fit the 1JZ correctly without using some pipe with elbows. There is some wiring to be done in the engine bay to connect the Alternator to the fuse/relay box.

I just do not like the idea of the shielded wires..... as for the oil gaudge... driftmotion makes an adapter im going to pick up. PLEASE somone discribe this fues box mess to me.

also it will be flexalites with a fluidine so it should stay nice and cool
Thanks

C1 - Located near the fuse box in the engine bay. Delivers the plus signals for the E.F.I. system color grey ConnectorC1.gif

I did not find this out till recently you may try it "Umm.... I wanted to pass this information along to future 1JZ swappers... You know the fusebox "splice" that you have to perform? Well.... You dont have to do it... Why not? Here's the secret....

Pull the fusebox wiring out of your half cut. Then, use a razor blade and cut all the insulation off the harness... You will have full access to all the fusebox wiring. Once you do this, disassemble the fuse box... You will be able to pull the plug out that connects for the EFI fuse, the EFI main relay, everything. This plug connects DIRECTLY to the big grey square plug that you need to connect to the square plug on the engine harness.... Disassemble your fusebox in your recepient car, and swap out the wiring. You simply unplug that connector, and plug the 1JZ connector in... The good news is that you dont have to do any splicing or funny crap. It's a one for one deal.... Oh yeah, that connector just happens to have the coolant temp wires on it for the sensor in the radiator, so you wont have to worry about that wire now...

It may sound complicated, but if you just take apart the 1JZ fusebox, you will see exactly what I am talking about. It's so simple and obvious, I'm not sure why anyone would bother splicing anything....

I wish I had taken pics of what I am talking about.....

Has no one else done it this way? It worked perfect in my car. I must be the swap master... One weekend. done. Me and my g/f.

- Hams."

I recall hearing something bad about using electric fans with the 1J. I dont remember what it was but maybe Jose or Aaron can chime in on this.

its not bad at all. Its just not as efficient as the hydro fan setup. Unless you get great electric fans. I've also heard some horror stories of the wiring failing and the fans stopping. So if he goes electric that will be fine AS long as the wiring is top notch.

Also about the speedo hole route. I've read that all you have to do is drill out the hole where the speedo cable is. Hook up the extended wiring harness with the regular harness place the ECU and its it. Then you will need to tackle the wiring for the fuse box but i've also read its not too many wires. I will guestimate at 10 wires max. 1 for ALT, Starter, A/C and maybe any other little things.
