a couple qs, my clear coat is peeling all over is there any way to make it stop and maybe wetsand the affected areas away. what grit? flat black is better than it being shiny in some areas and peeling everywhere else. looking for a temp fix until i get it repainted

the use to be black trim around hatch has peeled away to chrome any tips on painting it back to black?

if i get the 89 tails will i have to get that molding too, i have an 87t and it has a rubber grayish molding

input would be appreciated

The hatch moulding is plastic not painted you would need to buy paint that would stay on the metal if you were to paint it and prob something that is kind to flex

I always hope the newbies to the board don't take offense to these type of posts, but I thought I'd say something early to break the bad habit from forming.

Just flake the clear off as it comes off. If you wetsand it it will look ok for about a week then it will start peeling again.

Replace the trim. It's a rubber coating over metal that's meant to seal.

89+ tails won't match the molding, up to you...
