So I bought a 1jz swap from a guy that gave up on it, only thing is he wanted to put it in a 91-92 (Kouki) cressida. I however put it in an 87 7mgte supra. The problem lies with the wiring harness, when I bought it it was already lengthened. First question does anybody know who lengthens harnesses with red heat shrink. Second question can someone tell me if the white and grey plug are from 1jz or cressida, I have not seen these plugs in any 1jz pictures. I had to buy the pigtail ecu connector off ebay because I had an empty connector with swap.Any wiring advice much appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure with the 1J or 89+, but my 87 has a mate to the white plug coming from the dash harness. As for who lengthened it, that very well could have been a "home-brew" job, i.e. the previous owner could have done that himself. I would definitely get a wiring diagram for the 1J and go through it with a multi-meter to ensure that nothing got crossed, or improperly spliced.

If nothing else, Dr Tweak does good work, and could probably help troubleshoot yours if it is something minor.

Thanks for the insight! The only connectors I have under my dash of my 87 7mgte are: a big yellow, small yellow, small white(that the white plug will definetly not fit), the yellow for the flying lead out of the ecu, and the small black for the hac sensor.BS pics 022.JPG
If anyone knows where I can cross refrence this these plugs with some cressida plugs from a 91-92(ie. forum) I would greatly appreciate it.

If JZX Project is still around, I would be willing to bet someone on there could help you with the Cressida info. :)

Failing that, I know we have a few people on here who can point you to a good source...
