The vac line that goes from the power steering pump to the hardline just broke, and I don't have any extra lines that fit.

What are my options?

Can I cap off both sides (The pump and the hardline) without any negative effects?

The power steering is in use, and the line going from the pump to the intake is also capped off and has been that way for quite some time. Now that the other line BROKE I'm asking if I can cap that off too.

:1zhelp:

TIA

You bet, it's absolutely not required. All that line does is open at idle speeds to give the engine a little extra air when turning lock to lock in parking lots and such... the little extra air increases the idle RPM by just a bit to make it less likely to stall.

thats what i did during my rebuild. i was already used to blipping the throttle on my previous vehicle ('71 chevy c-10 that liked to stall) so i do it habitually in parking lots anyway. i removed the hardline, capped off the valve for good measure, and capped off the nipple on the accordian hose, as well as the steel line under the intake manifold. no ill affects thus far.
