Hey there everyone :icon_bigg im rather new to posting on these forums but not so new when it comes to the topic of supras. i have a 1989 7m-gte manual, and inevitably, the car has finally developed a bhg. At first the car ended up sitting in my garage for a couple of weeks, but now ive finally gotten around to fixing this with a buddy. both of us attend an automotive college, and have been into cars most of our lives, therefore have a fair amount of know-how to do the job. However, since i do live in a condo, and my car is in the underground garage, it isnt the ideal place to work, even though im in a sub basement where i have 4 spots all to myself.

Even though, with this location limitation, we planned on replacing the head gasket, among other gaskets and necessary fixes, leaving the engine in the car. Simply take most of the engine apart without having to pull it out.

We have already started taking the engine apart, just barely, and have the intake manifold off, along with the fuel rail, intake pipes and moved a good bit of the wiring harness aside. However, now that we are at the turbo, we found some of the bolts/nuts to be hard to get at. This got me thinking, is it 100% possible to fix a bhg without having to pull the motor??:aigo:

A simple way out would be to pull the motor, but trust me, this is almost impossible down there is a lack of lifts and such, and therefore im considering that to be an extreme last resort. Any advice and/or tips for getting the turbo out one way or another are going to be greatly appreciated along with any other advice for the work ahead.

Also, earlier on, we replaced the cam covers and tightened down the covers well, but still for some reason there seems to be small amounts of oil in my spark plug wells. I saw the oil on the end of the leads when i took them out.:nono: Im not entirely sure where its coming from, and if anyone has also experienced this, help on what needs to be fixed will also be greatly appreciated since the engine is being taken apart, might as well fix everything as we go.

Thanks to all in advance.
