Problems with supra

hey,whats goin on guys. I'm about to get a white 89 supra turbo with an engine rebuild but there are 2 problems.

1.When stepping on the gas pedal, I had to step on it a lot harder to get some acceleration. I had to press it all the way down to get some average acceleration. (Kinda hard to explain)

2. When driving, there is sort of a leaking noise, some kind of water noise when pressing the accerating really hard.

check for a blown head gasket. go to napa or a friend and get a tester for your radiator that checks for exhaust gasses. check the oil for milkshake puss.

smell the exhaust (not that much) but see if you can find any weird smells (maple syrup, fuel, burns your throat and eyes <-probably oil, black, white, blue, rotten eggs <-could be clogged cat)

if none of those problems surface it is prbably something more basic, and thus les expensive to repair.
