hey guys, ive been working on my car forever trying to get all the bugs worked out and here's what i got so far.....

i put in a mhg and did away with a lot of vacuum lines (just plugged them) ive checked to make sure they are all sealed up and they seem to be. i took off both sensors that hang off the back of the intake manifold, i think they are called vsv's. I am positive that i have my cam timing correct, but when i go to set my base timing on the cps, the car won't even run at 10 degrees. I've tried tripping the computer or whatever you call it (putting a paper clip in the 2 slots to set the base timing) but no matter what i do it does nothing. i can't seem to short circuit it. so without tripping it, i set the timing to about 15 degrees and it seems to run "best" there. also, the car is idleing low, and doesn't have very good power. when the boost comes on, the car cuts out and bucks (not boost cut, i know what that is). it just stumbles slightly as the rpms climb. i gapped my spark plugs to 32 degrees..... i don't remember anything else, but there might be more, I'm going to Portland International Speedway this next Wednesday night, so I want to get my supra fixed so we can go targa top off the whole way!!!!

You blocked off a bunch of vac lines?!?! Without knowing what they do...and you're wondering why your motor runs like crap. Did you even bother to read the TRSM before you did all this, or did you go off what your "buddy" told you...geez!

- Those are VSV's...one controls high temp fuel line press up, the other is the EGR.

- .032" (not degrees) is a good gap for stock boost.

- You can't set timing unless the diag block is jumpered...period.

- Sounds like your CPS was installed incorrectly when you replaced the HG.

Might be a good idea to check your ECU codes...lord only knows what you got going on there.

Piece of advice...you can't just start ripping through an EFI motor (especially a 7M) unless you are very sure of what you are doing. It will run like crap :slap:
