Did you take out the clutch fork? If it isn't disconnected, they won't come apart...ask me how I know! :)

Then i think it's the pp that's stuck to the flywheel.
The you'll get a little gap but then the trans just hits the trans tunnel and is going no where. Get the pp as far back in the bellhousing as you can.
hope this helps.

Mine did that even with all the bolts out. so i just let the pp stay in and pulled the the trans with the pp still on the flywheel and that's not recomended. the tilt you need to get is allmost unrealistic.

ALRIGHT!!!!!! got that D@#N transmission out last night, but the kit the guy at the shop orderd must be the wrong one. the hole in the pressure plate is the wrong size. one guy told me to reuse the old pressure plate, but i dont think thats such a good idea. if i have to do this, i wanna do this once. and do it right the first time! anyone have thoughts on reusing the pp???? :aigo:

Yea, to get the trans off at all I tilted the motor a good amount and used the biggest flat head screw driver I had and just pried the living crap out of the PP and bell housing. :)

Too bad you have the wrong clutch :( I commend you for even trying this task so fast. Took me a little while to build up the courage to do it. :p

i have no problem jumping into this project so fact. i grew up in a family of mechanics, and im taking ase test to become certified. and yes it was the pp stuck to the flywheel. pryed it apart with a prybar, and my fiancee's help. i should have the new clutch by monday. by the way, the "mechanic" that orderd the parts for me is a mustang geek.

one off-topic question though, would anyone out there have a issue with buying a FRESH 60-trim ct-26 for $400? i think its a steal.

thanks mkiiiman for having a open mind and giving my hot head a fresh idea to work with. and no i didnt have to tilt the engine. pop the pp and it slid right off!!!!!!
