I have a '91 supra turbo. I had to replace the front main seal. When im attempting to put the engine back together and when im tightening the crank pulley bolt, as im applying torque to the bolt it is turning the entire drive line. The e brake is on. the car is in first gear as well. my wheels are locked with wood blocks.

any ideas on how to tighten my crankshaft pulley bolt without losing as much power through the rest of the driveline?

I guess i should have said it better, my wheels aren't locked, i'm attempting to lock them in place, they are rotating some. The clutch is only a couple months old and if i'm getting torque to the wheels then it shouldnt be slipping... or am i wrong.

on my way outside now to try this with the car in 5th gear.

Of course it wouldn't hold... effectively the engine was outputting 195 ft/lbs of torque plus gear reduction from being in 1st. The hand brake never had a chance.
