Only problem is potential backfiring = Fire right under were your sitting.
If your at stock a/f it shouldnt be a problem. I drove mine open DP for like 3 months and didnt have any problems. just cops...

make sure you don't have an oil leaks, there have been a couple of reported fires started from leaking Supras and open downpipes..

Tranny leaks as well. IIRC that's what cost a member his Supra not too long ago. The engine was nice and tight, but the tranny had enough of a leak to end up toasting the whole car while driving it around.

Kinda funny the question being asked as I'm about to be in the exact same boat driving the car from the shop where it's at to the muffler shop. Not a long distance but enough for me to check the tranny REAL good before I take off. That and make sure my extinguisher is fully charged.

I'll be bringing an extinguisher as well, thanks for the posts. It's only about 5-6 miles and I'll be taking it easy.

Yup, open DP isn't a problem on turbo cars, the turbo provides all the back-pressure you need. Just watch for cops, they don't like loud imports; which is funny because muscle cars and motorbikes get away with stupidly loud exhausts all the time :nono:

That's because most old school muscle cars had big ass 7.0L+ engines pushing 400 hp...

Blame all the CX Civics and their 96 hp @ 16,000 RPM waking up the neighbors as they buzz by in 2nd gear...
