Problem #2 Oil Leakage.

Oil pan and drain plug leakage ftl.

Oil is pooling quickly out of the oil pan gasket and drain plug.
The drain plug is stripped and had about 2 lbs of Teflon tape to keep in the oil and the oil pan gasket is almost as bad. Short of pulling the motor is there any easier way to put in a new pan and re-gasket it ?

You can either pull the motor or drop the subframe. I haven't disassembled the front of the car before, but from what I understand it isn't necessarily "easier". Someone else can probably chime in with more details, but you basically will be taking apart the whole front suspension to be able to drop the subframe.

If you have some way to safely support the Car and then the engine it'll be much easier to drop the subframe than pull the engine with the nightmare of broken clips/hoses/wiring that follows...

You do however need to get it all spotlessly clean before you reseal the new Pan, I use 3bond 1207b RTV.

Thanks for the advice IJ, Im guessing I can get that at any autozone.
I just got this car and it looks like the suspension has never been touched so the easier way for me
would be to drop the engine sub frame and do all the suspension updating then as well.
Might as well knock out two or three or seven birds with one stone.

It's not always easy to find but it's sold in many places branded as "HondaBond" "YamaBond" "SuziBond" and so on so if you have a Bike dealership handy it's an alternative source.
