Probe Piston Ring Gap????

so there i am... about to start setting my ring gap... and then i go to look for the specs i want, and i've lost them... so i search, find the gaps i want..

im THINKING of .016 top and .018/.019 on the bottom... but heres my question, my feeler gauge has me super confused... so heres a picure.

If i wanted to set a ring gap of .018 is this the feeler gauge i would use?

and here are some other teaser of pics of everything else... i kinda mocked up the engine real quick to just look at.

Are you talking inches or mm? Cause if your trying to set it to .18 that feeler is a hundred thousandths too thin LOL...

.180 is one hundred eighty thousandths....that feeler is eighteen thousandths thick....so its way too thin..

and .180 in = 4.57200MM

explain that one? cause theres NO way im setting my ring gaps to freakin 4mm... haha

LOL! I was posting this link. And is your cross hatch right?

He said he wanted to set the gap to .018", so yes, thats the correct feeler gauge for that...
dont know where you guys came up with .180"

i edited my first post... it said .18 at the beginning... becuse thats how everybody elses posts it up...

and yes the cross hatch is right, i told them what was in that thread (when i found it a while ago)
