My clutch wont let me shift into any gear while running, it will only grind!

things that are the same
stock flywheel (resurfaced 3k ago)
stock clutch disc (new 3k ago)

things that are different
Action Pressure Plate Stage 3 for R154

my pedal feels normal and the car starts fine, i just dont know if i should adjust the pedal or look elsewhere for my problem.

Does the engine bog or do you hear a grinding noise when pushing the pedal?
Did the pedal go to the floor and you had to pull it up?
Did you check fluid level?

it jumps like its in gear but you can feel it slipping a little because the clutch is in

Check your clutch fork, master/slave for leaks, pressure plate fingers, and have a friend work the clutch while you look threw the inspection holes in the trans...

My guess is a broken fork or something caught between the pp and clutch disk.

the clutch is bled and has a good pedal and does not stay on the floor.

the clutch fork is fine and i have watched it actuate the pressure plate and it seems fine.

the motor does not bog down because it doesnt release the clutch enough to put it in any gear.

the trans was fine before it was pulled and it shifts fine while not running.

Is the pedal the only adjustment? I have done this clutch twice with no problems until i put in that pressure plate

This isn't a trans problem so don't stress...

The pedal is the only adjustment yes....if you've done some drag launches lately I'm thinking you broke your disk and it's wedging between the disk and pp.

Is it possible that the clutch disc is on backwards? I recall one of my friends did that on his MR2 and it wouldn't engage into any gear. I don't know if that possible on our cars.

well im not really sure because the book said the clutch would have a flywheel side and a pressure plate side but mine wasnt marked but my brother said it went the way it went and was correct.

one side of the clutch had a cone shape on the splines and the other was short and boxy.

does anyone know or have pictures of the correct way so i can check?

I'm not really sure which side it's supposed to be installed. I sure don't want to misinform you. I really can't tell by the pic in this link either. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=CL&P=11 I read further it doesn't tell you which side of the clutch is supposed to face which side either. Maybe someone will chime in and tell you.

On a side note, I was very impressed with how smooth your engine was running. I can only hope mine will run as good as yours. Not to mention how clean everything looked.

The way you see the arrangement is the way they go together....the part of the disk that you don't see is the side that goes against the fw...

I was thinking flatter side to the FW, but I wasn't 100% sure.
gaboon: would a disc intalled backward cause it not to engage into any gear? I know on other cars it's happened, but not sure about ours.
