Premium gas help

Ok, I just need some info on premium gas. If its a repost then sorry:icon_conf . If someone ran regular gas in a turbo supra, how bad would that be, what would the consequences be? And would using premium gas help fuel economy/performance/overall positive production of the car,basically what would the benefits be? Thanks just need some info, im not too knowledgable on octane ratings.

If you want to go cheap on gas, just jam open your wastegate and buy regular unleaded..... No boost, no problems... :bigthumb:

You can boost to stock presure with a stock turbo just fine. The manual only says 87 Octane or better.

I'm not a complete expert but I believe lower octane would potentially give you better gas mileage cruising since there is more energy in its "explosions".

the lower the octane rating, the easier it is to ignite. with our cars being turboed, the cobustion chamber temperatures are high, plus add all that extra air/fuel mixture from boosting, and it gets very hot, hot enough to ignite the mixture before the spark plug makes a spark... this can cause many things, among them... holy pistons.
