so i'm getting ready to pull out my 1jz out of my 87 and put it into my new 89 (production date 06/89) thee 89 we all know is the bastard year as it changed physically but apparently can still carry some pre 89 characteristics like (depending on Production date) the 89 can come with square mounts and in my case gray plugs that look like pre 89. i was looking at the C1 pre and "post/gray" 89 and the connector looks the same but it looks like the pin placement is different. does anyone maybe have a pin layout for the gray pre 89 looking connectors? i just want to make sure the wiring is correct. the only pin outs i was able to find was pre 89 and post 89.
has anyone dealt with this? any advice? i mean i know i can plug it in and see if it works but i'm still pulling the motor out of the 87 and i'm waiting for brackets and mounts to put it in the 89 so i can't plug it in till all that arrives and is put on the motor.
