Well I have noticed that solid motor mounts are hard to find and nobody has any for us with the pre 89's with the square mounts, so BIC performance has just finnished the prototypes for the pre 89 and the round 89+ mk3's. Both types are direct fit bolt on parts, the pre 89 mounts even have the correct offset of the studs to fit the chassis perfectly just like stock. Grade 8 hardware is included with all mounts. I will probably do a group buy if there is enough interest.

I have added a poll to see how many people are seriosly interested.

ps. we also made a prototype set of Polyurethane pre 89 mounts that i am testing in my car right now. More custom mounts/bushings and parts are also in the works.

Solid pre '89s would have been great if I knew these were coming out soon, but damn, I bought some GM poly tranny mounts for mine to mod into mounts. Is that what you did Randy with your polys?

No I did not use the universal trans mounts for the motor mounts, I looked at those but they wont work well as motor mounts, they cant take much of a side load or twisting. I went a different route, I will post pics soon.

I would want either a poly or semi-solid (rubber/poly sandwiched betweeen aluminum) 89+ mounts. Someone on eBay is already selling 89+ solid ones.

dont the pre 89's have a hook inside to prevent them from seperating?

Yes they do have a anti seperation piece built in. I am running the poly's on my car and I love them. They do vibrate the car more and it is a little louder in the cabin. BUT they are way less noisy/ harsh than full solid mounts. I would say that the poly's have about 60% more vibration/ noise than stock compared to to full solids. The engine barely moves when revving, blipping the throttle to 5000+ rpm, maybe 1/16" of movement.

Yes we plan on doing some sort of semi solid/ Poly 89+ mounts but not right now.

Will have pricing and pics up in the next day or two.

PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL!!!
