When I came home this eveing, the whole house was silent except for my three loyal cats.

My grandmothers car was at our house...and my fathers truck was home...but the SUV was gone ( Infinity QX56...used to tote family around LOL).

Well after the storm blew over tonight, I was wondering where my parents and grandmother were.

My grandfather called out of nowhere and asked if Grandma was home...well I told him she was not. He preceeded to talk random things and finally said if I had heard anything from "your dad or grandma about lorrie ( my mother ) in nashville at the hospital...

Guys, my mother is in 100% clinical depression right now. She has been acting weird lately...like a "kid" in a way....

just erie stuff. Today my father called home and to his dismay was talking to a "young girl" instead of his wife ( my mother )...then she told him that "they said it wouldnt hurt with a knife"...

all in all, she is in a hospital under strict supervision. No abuse, no alchohaul in the family. Nothing but love. Go to church, sing in choir....dad plays trumpet and music...

We cant even go see her until sunday for 1 hour. Its a voluntary hospital ( pshychiatric ) where she can check in and out if she wants to....but they will keep her for a week or two.

I have NEVER seen my father so disoriented or distressed in my life. His wife, his love, my mother.....is not who she was.

In one day, her brain just "flipped". Simply she has had a sever chemical change ( imbalance ) in her brain. Something hopefully can be overcome by just sheer will. But might have to be addressed by medication.

To put face to the situation, she had a traumatic experiance during childhood that seated itself in her uncauntious mind. Which 99% triggered this outcome.

Guys, my family and I need your prayers.

PLEASE

That's pretty tough man. My grandfather suffered from braindamage almost 6 years ago after he fell down the stairs into his basement. His mind was almost gone, he couldn't remember a thing, didn't know who his family was, it killed us to see him that way. He was in the hospital for the last 6 months of his life and was never himself again. I feel for you Jonathan and wish you and your family the best in this time. Good luck.

I can relate with this in some way. My grandfather went senile. When he used to try to fake being sick he would say the things he was supposed to do instead of doing them. Like he would start saying cough cough or sniffle sneeze. Things like that. No longer with us tho. R.I.P. Being senile wasnt his cause of death tho. Just old age. But definitely prayers from me. Goodluck with this situation.

My prayers are with you. I have almost the exact thing going with my mom, but she hides it alot. She is just a different person alltogether now. Good luck, and again my prayers are with you.

It all has to do with her ceritonan (I cant spell right now.) level. Its nill to none as the doctors told us. This causes her to not think rationally...much less it can cause holucinations. We dont know how long she will be in there.

I cant explain this...its the most odd thing I have ever experianced. As my father said " if it were a real physical problem like needing surgery, it would not be hard to cope with. But since its something litterally that cannot be fixed by physical manipulations....its just not comprehendable".

Its weired not having her here in the mornings.:icon_conf

Thanks guys.

I come from a land down under
This is good to see guys! "Community" :)

A lot of us here have had run ins with Jonathan for many and varied reasons but I like the fact that when he's hurting he gets support and not kicked!

We're all one big dysfunctional family here and while not everyone gets along, when it counts we show our true selves!
(backs up my feelings expressed in my "Community thread")

im in the boat with IJ, i really dont do the praying thing. but your family is now in the thoughts of my family.

i lost my mother when i was about 12. i can just about prove how it happend, but the family would not listen to me then but they want to know now. i miss her dearly.

keep your head up and just live moment to moment and be with your family as much as you can. loosing your mother can sometimes be the worst thing in a persons life. she brought you into this world and you have life because of her. all you want to do is make her proud. and with her in the hospital, you cant. its gotta hurt.

im so sorry for you and your family. things like that should not happen to good people.

i just may have to go and pray for your family. it might just make me feel a lil better about life.

Same here, I don't do religion. But I've been there, and I know what it's like to deal with a loved one who's "not themselves". If you ever need to talk about it, just PM me with a phone # and I'll be glad to give you as much of my time as you need.

I guess i'm in the same boat. I believe in spiritual god but not organized religion. I have a bi-polar grandmother that looses her grip on reality every 6 months or so i know how you feel.. It's better now that we know why and can try and keep her on the meds...

Hope she gets better bud...

Jonathan, my wife and I send our prayers. Keep your spirits up and we pray she'll be all right. I lost my mom and dad a few years back after both were sick for a very long time. I was glad to see them finally go they suffered for so long. All we can ask when our loved ones get sick is that they not feel pain.
