Anyone have their power steering system leak? I can't pinpoint the exact location but it must be from one of the high pressure hoses(duh). From what I hear the most common leak spot is from the pump to pinion. Any conformation? Also is this a job I could attempt by myself(my autoshop at my school is being torn down so that means no lift, jacks and jackstands.) or should I have someone at a shop do it?

I wish I could jsut go get a non power steering rack, that would be ideal but more costly heh.

Thanks

So you can't see where the leak is? Clean off all the slime and have a friend crank the wheel back and forth while you look for the leak. Do it yourself. Easy stuff. Some basic hand tools and your spare tire jack will be enough.

I just had to change the high pressure hose on mine. About $70 from oreilly. Hardest thing was threadin it in place. It's a long piece of metal hard line with about 6 inches rubber on either end and it snakes between the rack and frame over to the driver side. I unbolted pass side of rack from frame to have room to pull line through. Easy though.
