I searched the forums for power window problems. I didn't really find what i was looking for. My switches work fine. The issue i'm having i believe is mechanical. I have done the "auto-up" mod and it has been working for a year, no probs. I hit the switch the other day, it goes up and when it reaches its closed position, it starts making a horrible loud popping sound in the door. Is the window motor going bad? Is it easy to replace?

Pull the panel and make sure all the bolts holding the motor and the glass are tight. Could be that they worked loose and are allowing the motor or glass to move around independent of the door frame.

i did have to swap the glass from a break in 2 years ago. I did everything to spec, but good tip. I'll check all those. Could it be something else? When the window gets to its top most position, the "auto up" is still engaged and not "letting loose" for the switch to cut power to the motor...if that makes since.
