New here. Howdy.

I am leaking power steering fluid. Thats a fact. I am also pretty sure its leaking from the cooling hoses going to the radiator.

On that note I believe I am leaking a little coolant as well.

Here is basically what I need to know. Anybody ever have a problem like this? And what kind of hoses are the pressure hoses for the power steering system?

Now on to the oil pressure. This car has had two owners before me(It's my first car). It appears to have been in an accident at one time(must of been small). It got the 80$ paint special. The previous owner let his wife drive the car (it shows. No offence to any ladies) and before he sold it to me the engine was replaced with a JDM 7mge. The car's body is around 190k and the engine is supposeidly about 35k miles.(enough with the background and get to the point right?) Whoever installed the JDM engine aperentally diddn't install the oil pressure ssensor. I know I have oil pressure(I'm moving right?) But It would be nice to have. Anyone have any info on where the hookup is and what possibly might be goin on?

Sorry for the novel!

Thanks, Kyle

Well, its impossible to be leaking PS fluid from the radiator hoses. If you are SURE its ATF (power steering fluid) and not red coolant then most likely its coming from the high pressure line. I know from maintenance records my car has had it replaced 3 times in its 107k mile life. So thats something to check into 1st.

As far as the coolant, see if you can trace where its coming from, either a blown hose or a clamp that has given up. Whatever hoses you need to replace I highly reccomend getting real Toyota hoses as they will probably last longer.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hmm I must of been mistaken then. It looked to me like there were power steering coolant lines going into the radiator. Well I am going to try to scrounge some funds to get all my hoses replaced. Most vac lines and other assorted lines up top look relitively okay. Must of been replaced with the engine swap.

Oh, I just realized you were an automatic. In that case, there is a trans cooler inside the stock radiator, which obviously is ATF also. So you could be correct in saying that it is ATF, accept those lines are for your trans and not the PS and they certainly could be leaking fluid from your trans. I apoligise for the somewhat mis-information.

Ill have to take a loot at my trans fluid. Last time I chcked it, it seemed fine. Well now it appears I could be leaking jsut about every fluid in the car. Did I mention the window washing pump just spits out the pump area when turned on. The one for the lights works tho.

Thanks mkIIIman
