Power steering problem

ok so i have a 1990 jza 70 rhd and just recently i have a dead spot in my steering wheel, i will go to turn the steering wheel and it wont respond till about 3 or 4 inches into the turning, its really messed up, anybody have ne ideas of what the problem could be?:1zhelp:

Sounds like possibly the steering box, it should turn regardless of fluid/pump problems. Check the rod which connects the wheel to the box, does it have any play in it? I don't know about supras, but the steering box is a somewhat common point of failure on toyo trucks.

Be careful driving it if you are, can't say I would drive it though.

check the power steering rack mounting points. mine does the samething and one side of the rack is missing bolts for the bracket and this causes the rack to slide 3-4 inches before it finally catches and turns.
