Not sure where to put this question so I thought I would start here.

The motor that moves the front edge of the drivers seat is not working in my 88. There is nothing under the seat. Is there a trick I can use to adjust it until I can get a replacement motor? Like a screw or bolt similar to the headlight knob in case of failure?

Thanks all
Doug

good luck on taking it out, better start practicing squat thrusts because they aint light!! the toyota driver seat has a few motors that drive all the the creature comforts, and it could be just a bad motor or a bad switch.

If you find the driver's seat to be too heavy, you need to start working out a bit more :biglaugh:

IIRC, there are only two harness connections on the pre89's driver's seat. If the entire lower half doesn't have power check the harness connections. They're on the bottom in the back side of the seat. If only one of the motors is out, pull the seat and see if the motor will run off 12V. It could just be the switch.

Good to see another local member!

There are 3 motors IIRC in the lower half of the drivers seat.

The actuators turn a screw/bar that moves the seat, its possible to grab the other end and adjust the seat manually, you might need to get a pair of pliers though.

Thank you all for the replys. I think its the motor but cant get at the connections. Its not a fuse as far as I can tell because everything else adjusts.

TOM, I tried your idea about turning the screw, but I cant get a good enough grip on it in the car.
