I would guess that it has something to do with the TVIS. Either your butt dyno is sensitive enough to feel the TVIS at work, or you TVIS is stuck in "high rpm" mode.

oh crap! you bought that car? i remember seeing that for sale somewhere... i think!

anyway, you should check your intake system out, i'm willing to bet the AICS is gummed up, thus costing you low end torque.

wats a tvis and yes u probally seen it on ebay its pretty clean tho

and acis i am new to supras, i just finished puting in a starter yesterday lol

also it might be me not feeling the power but what are those two things anyways worth looking at

is there something with the car anyways lol i am geting scared u guys are like oh crap you bought that car lol, well it was in mass is that helps

also lol i may be shifting way to early in gears lol, like i shift at 3000 in first then when it gets to second its too low of an rpm to get up to speed, sorry if i sound stupid, the car i had before was a tercel and that was setup to go kinda fast around turns, i just want this to be a nice decent street car

but yea i really wana know what those two things metioned were so i can take a look tommorow also how can i deal with them

its the thing directly on top of the engine that looks like a Y pipe. in there is a little switch that, at certain rpms, changes the length of the intake runners by closing off certain parts and opening others. it is meant to give more top end power. either its working correctly and you really are noticing it, or its busted and thus making it only short runners, and thus you only get the optimum power after 4k rpm.

but remember our cams are made to "kick in" at around 3500-4000 rpms thats where thry make the most power, i notice it too in my 88 N/A but i think everythings fine.

it would be easy, just take off that pipe on the top, look inside, and there should be a little plate that turns.. kinda like a throtle, but only one plate i believe... if it moves it works?? heh.. i dont have much experience with NAs ive only ever owned turbos.

what moves the plated anyways, do i have to remove any cable or is that just pressure that moves it also i have to remove throttle body so that can wait until then because i have to do spark plugs,
