Power Antenna Broke

The Antenna on my 90T with a spoiler is broke off and it was that way when I got it. The motor works I just need to replace the antenna part that goes up and down. It sucks that the radio is fuzzy. Is the Antenna a special one since I have the spoiler or are they all the same? How do I replace the antenna?
The motor works cause I can hear it when I turn on the radio...:1zhelp:

I ordered a new mast from toyota, $12?? but turns out my motor gears were in pieces... Just order a new mast. Its easiest to pull the back corner panel, but you can do it through the access panel. you'll have to take off the spoiler piece too. two screws and its off IIRC.

its a bitch to pull it... i ripped everything out and left it out... you can take the whole power antenna thing out and plug a diff one into the little cable that goes to your deck

The Supra comes with two. There is one in the rear window glass and the mast in the rear fender.

I personally just scrapped the mast, and used an adapter to plug into the rear glass one instead.

Then I must have 3. I have one on each side of the rear, and if there's one in the window...

The passenger side one has never worked(stays down) and the drivers side is broken. I'm just going to get an s2000 mast and fill the holes.

Can you expand on what you did a little bit. Did you just mount a smaller one in the trunk then? I'd love to ditch my exterior mast.

The stock radio unit just plugs both in, and ignores the weaker signal. If you look where your radio mounts, you will see two wires for the antenna - one is the regular size and will plug straight into just about any aftermarket radio. This one is wired to the motorized mast antenna.

The second is a miniature version, and uses the same plug as a fair number of 'modern' cars - any decent stereo shop will carry adapters, as they have to use them all the time. This is wired to the rear window glass.

What GrimJack said. It's called a diversity antenna system. Just use the other one or replace the mast if that's all that's busted.

I replaced my entire power antenna years ago but the odd part is I left it unplugged so it doesn't extend. Works fine but that may not fly if you don't live in an urban area with a strong signal. When I'm out in the country I simply pop open the access panel and plug in the connector.
