I just replaced the head gasket on this car, but now it won't start. It turns over, but doesn't start.

I pulled the plugs and checked them, they smell like gas. I don't think it's a fuel issue.

The timing is correct on everything and I can't find anything wrong at all.

Help.

Lot of things could be wrong and yet it could be one simple little thing that could keep it from starting. If you are sure the timing is right, the cam gears on the marks, #1 on TDC, crank pulley on the mark, and the rotor pointing at #1 wire, I'd check all your grounds, trace your wires to make sure they are pluged were they are suppost to plug in, like the MAF connection is one that is missed alot, and the ground wires that go on the manifold also are missed or connected to the starter in some cases.

Useally the timing is off most times when they don't want to start.
