Hey all. I'm making this post because I've got my eye on a Supra back here in Iceland. To begin I want you, the reader, to keep that in mind that the Supra is pretty rare here in Iceland and also a bit hard to get.
What I know about this Supra are few. I do know that the guy who owns this Supra owns another one, and he used this one to part up his other car. Nothing much missing though. Mainly the engine (7M-GE) and the transmission (which I belive was W58 rather than the R154, correct me if you know better than me about it). :sarcasm:
There are few minor things missing too which I could live with for a while, but would be better to have sooner than later. That is the back of the rear seats, and the left turn signal (if we look at the car from the front). And oh, on the drivers door the "door knob" (no idea what the english word is) is missing too.
There are probably few more things missing which isn't that crucial though, but ofcourse always good to have. :runaway:
Here are few pictures of it from my phone. It shows most of the parts that aren't so pretty on the body. Ofcourse there might be some more rust behind it, let's just hope not. :nono:
I can get that Supra for $158,24 and if I have to sell it due some reasons, I can always at least get $118,68 back at the scrap-yard. Though I bet some other car-holic people here in Iceland would buy it off me for the same money I can get it at, or even more.
I know it will take some work, and money, to get that car back on the street. But I'm willing to spend few years on it slow but steadily. It is the dream car after all. Plus I look at that car as a lovely way to learn more about them and how to fix a car over all. :naughty:
My grandpa is more than willing to keep the car in his garage, and help me with all the rust and everything that there has to do so there is no worry there neither.
But then the question is. Those parts that would be missing, it wouldn't be hard finding them in the UK or the USA? Even from Japan?
I know there is a sales corner here and I've seen few stuffs there I would need for that car if I buy it so I take it as it's not that hard to get those stuff that are missing. It'd only be the cost of shipping it that would be the down side I bet. :sarcasm:
Well. I'm 95% on buying that car even for it's condition. But with all my ideas, thinking, questions and information gathering I've been goin' through now for a month about it, I've no idea what I'm getting into since it'd be my first time I take a car in that condition and build it back up. :1zhelp:
