I just went out to get a bit of gas for my supra. 1st gear 3000rpm's 15 mph. 2nd 3.5 and 4000 rpm's. 3rd gear same thing, 4000 rpm's and it is a struggle to hit 20 mph. The engine is reving just fine. I think my clutch is slipping. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what the problem might be??? thanks for your time everyone. mike

it's probably your clutch... if your clutch is fully engaged when your hitting 3.5k rpms and you're only going 20mph... I'd say clutch...

you should have smelled it if it was slipping that bad.

first thing to check is your pedal/rod adjustment..

better make sure toyota will actually do it... the toyota dealership around me won't work on a car that is more than 10yrs old if it hasn't already been worked on at their shop...

absolutely the first thing you should check. when i put in my turbo engine my clutch was slipping that bad, just because my pedal needed to be adjusted. check that out first.

THis hole is where the air intake leads to. I removed the piece that goes from the end of the tube obviously. I may go and get a dremel and really open that up and let it be at that. Take the circular end cap off of the entire thing and get rid of that fat ass'd canister in the middle of it. I'm thinking about some 3 inch type of radiator hosing clamped from one end to the other?????? Just thought I would run it up the old flag pole and see if I could gtes a lil golden shower. Frank Zappa..............., I liked it.

I didn't notice the oil leaking thanks Jonathan. Part of the problem...., Part of the sulution, or landscape. You guys decide. Some of these parts under my engine have a rustproof coating that should last the life of the car. Yes.., and Thank you

kinda preaching to the choir there supre. squid did a complete na - turbo swap...he knows more about the 7mge than most turbo drivers do...

again i urge you to check your adjustment...its very possible its just out of whack..

also its free..

thanks lank - saved me some time. and it should be the first thing you check, regardless of what clutch configuration you have. start with the simple stuff and work your way up
