hello Everyone,

I just finished a rebuild on my 7M a few months back. The motor has about 4,000 miles on it currently. Current mods are; JE .020 pistons, 2.0 MHG, rebuilt head, new oil pump, water pump, timing belt, freeze plugs, ARP Studs torqued to 90ft lbs, 57 trim CT-26, DDP, APEXI NEO, AEM UEGO, RC 550 CC injectors, Lexus AFM, untunned.
Long story short I went to go put gas and when I pulled out of the gas station the car went completely rich (Wideband read 10:1) and the car was sputtering until it shut off about 5 seconds later. I popped the hood open and noticed it smelled like gas under the hood. After I towed the car home I inspected the car a bit more. The #6 cylinder is filled with GAS not coolant or oil but GAS and it seems that the car is throwing gas out from what looks like the back of the #6 piston on the turbo side.
I have not removed the head yet but I am guessing the head is either cracked, HG did not seal, or the studs are overtorqued? I am checking the studs tonight to see how torqued they are and going from there.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what could have happened? I'm kinda stumped on what to do next. I definitely will get it fixed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Ricky L

IJ thank you for the response, I appreciate it.
There's gas coming out of the motor on the turbo side. I can't tell if its coming directly from where the head and the block meet but its in that area. Would a stuck injector cause enough pressure to do this? I would have not considered a mating problem if there isn't gas coming out of the motor. Thank you.

Did you retorque the head?

Pull the Plugs, unplug the injector/efi fuse and crank the engine till it clears the fuel in that cylinder.

Try a retorque on the head put it back together and run a comp test, that should tell you if it's a sealing issue, before starting the engine again I'd check the dipstick for Gas, if there's gas in the sump drain it and refill with fresh oil, ALL of this assumes you've repaired/replaced the faulty injector before proceeding.

I have not retorque the head.
I will get on that starting tonight. As soon as I fix the faulty injector and have everything else done I will report back and let you know the outcome.
I appreciate the help.

Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy just in case, and get all the gas cleaned up before running it.
