Pop when turning

I've done quite a bit of searching regarding this issue, but I only found one thread with symptoms like mine, but it was never answered. Now, onto the symptoms.

As the title states, my car pops from the front end while turning. It also does it when I hit the brakes, and sometimes when I let off the brakes. I replaced the driver side ball joint, because I had a wobble at speed, and it still pops. The passenger side has had the ball joint replaced at some point before I owned the car, as it has a grease fitting. I've also noticed that the pop comes from the passenger and driver side. I've also had my dad drive the car up the driveway several times to recreate the noise and it sounds like its coming from either right behind or above the axle centerline.. I've checked the bushings on the upper control arm and they look almost perfect.

Also, another weird thing is that it will never pop with the steering on the lock. It will only pop if I shift weight onto the front suspension (braking) or if I hit a bump with the steering somewhere in the middle. It doesn't matter if its turned left or right though.

My thoughts, upper ball joints, lower control arm bushings, as they look a little worn, perhaps even the springs shifting in their seats. Or maybe even the swaybar end links.

If anyone could point me in the correct direction on this, I would highly appreciate it.

The 89+ motor mounts are fluid filled, correct?

I havent checked the driver side before, but i noticed when changing oil the passenger side one looks practically brand new.

Check your sway bar bushing and end links. Sounds like that could be it if its not turning related only weight shift related.

Actually, I forgot to mention that I can sometimes get one or two pops from just sitting still and turning, but its more of moving and turning or braking that will make the noise.

I get that too.
Lemme know if you figure it out, but my plan is to replace all control arm front bushings, balljoints and the entire steering rack+ bushings.
So I imagine I'll find it in there somewhere.

im sure people say its fluid filled, but mine broke in half, and it was all rubber in the middle. engine kept moving back and forth (im guessing) and apparently it made that pop noise.

Does anyone know if the root of this issue could be the subframe brace being loose?

I thought it looked a little loose but didn't think much of it. Now I'm starting to think i should have tightened it up a little. Anyone know the torque specs for it?

Well i put some torque on that center brace. Driver side was surprisingly tight and the passenger side was about a quarter turn until it was tight.. still didnt solve my popping issue.

So far ive torqued the subrame,
Torqued sway bar end links
torqued sway bar mount/bushing/thing
and torqued the subframe brace..

Im starting to think its the lower control arm bushings...

They are fluid filled. They are not fluid filled in the smaller section where they like to break tho.

Usually when you have a pop when turning it might be wise to look at the steering system. Inner tie rods and outer tie rods.

Just because they are torqued doesn't mean something isn't bent. I have had lots of cars that pop when turning or braking, and every shop replaces the tie rods and it solves the problem 90% of the time. The other 10 percent is usually a bushing gone bad. I have a huge snap sound when I turn hard but that is partly due to the steering dampeners. I get a little extra lock to lock so.....makes it a little harder on my setup. but nothing is bent so I'm not worried.

I just don't see it being the tie rods as they are in good condition. Very little free play in the wheel, and no slack in the tie rods themselves.

Im leaning towards bushings now..
