Pop-out Targa Top

Fellas,

I'm a mod over on i-supra and usually just lurk around here but I'm trying to start posting up. I'm working to gain interest for a pop-top targa that I've been working on for sometime now. Currently I have a proto-type on its way and I'm looking for testers of the product. Please check out this thread from i-supra for more information. Any interested can PM me on i-supra or here. Yea man for whats planned out its gonna be sick: 5 seconds to take out the top instead of 5 minutes and alot of cursing!

^^haha that's the first thing that popped into my head.

Now i can pop my targa off so i can jump out of trhe car. Seriously though i hate having to pull out my little socket everytime i wanna take the targa off(dont have the cool little toyota tool)

Well I don't want to release too much info yet, but lets just say you can pretend to be Officer O'Conner with the push of a button ;)

The price will be well within reason for the community. I think I said it on the i-supra thread and I will say it here. I'm not in this project for the money, so everyone can count on a great product for affordable cost.

Why not just post the actual information over here instead of making us go over there. There is MUCH more MkIII traffic on this site than there is over there. Help be part of the solution to bring the community together. :)

yeah im in for it. pm me the details of how much and how long the road test will be. i use my car as a DD and drive about 100 miles per day. i would be able ro give you a lot of feed back.

Let me first say THANK YOU for putting so much time, money , and effort into this for the good of the community, and not just yourself. This, and having the vision and ability to come up with a product that just might be something that almost everybody will want.

I would like to be a tester myself, but my daily travels probably would not do you much good. You can pencil me in as a potential customer though once these make it to that stage.

Thanks for the many replies. To answer a few questions and requests:

I'm at the proto-type stage now, I've got plans drawn out and I'm working with a machinist back home on the actual production aspect. The real killer is that I'm in school right now and home is 3 hours away so I'm constantly back and forth btwn here and there. Road testing is set for March (I hope) and I would like to see the final product hit market just in time for summer.

And to the i-supra comments I sadly must agree, as much as I love that place the traffic is surely dead. Thats why I brought things over here, I mean damn look at the replies I got in one night!!! The higher the demand for this part, the cheaper I can make it for, and the cheaper I can sale it for. So its good to finally get good word out.

Thanks to the PM's sent so far. I'm going to make the tester list out of 10 people as of now, with a possible increase depending on the amount of interest. Right now there are 6 spots open so please feel free to get your name on the list. There isn't much info I can give out at this time for legal reasons but more will follow around March when testing begins. Thanks again for the input guys!
