I took out the dash to install guage covers and the speedo needle got nudged. Now the needle does not rest at 0 instead it rests at the bottom. what do I do to fix this? Would installing a resting point for the needle work?

Sorry man idk,
but I have a similar question to be answered while on topic:

My cable is ~20 mph off and rest at the bottom too when stoped. I have aftermarket gauges and a R154 swap, if that helps. Could it be that little plastic gear at the trany?

Thanks,
Drew

Just nudge the needle back to zero at rest. I had to pull my needles off to put the Indiglo gauges on and then placed the speedo needle back as close to zero as I could at according to the local speed readout, I got it within 1 mph...not bad! It's really not hard to pry it off and place it back on, just be careful...

you dont need to pull any needles off just bend the ind guages around the needles and put them thru the hole, dont be afriad to bend the guages they flex right back

Pull the needle off, put it back on at 0.

Or, spin it all the way around past 160mph, until it stops, and push it a bit further, it will twist on the post a bit.

Not that big of a deal.
