Ok, first sorry that this is long. :aigo: I finally got my friends 88 Turbo all back together after the engine was messed up by a local shop. I completely rebuilt everything from the ground up. It has got all new Toyota bearings and rings, and a 2 mm HKS metal head gasket. The head was sent out and redone by Sound Performance who took it all apart in the first place. I had the block also cleaned, decked and lapped. It has ARP studs toque to 90 Ft pounds. Here is the problem. He is running and SP61 GT turbo. After the compression test came out good (150 even) we started the car. It ran great, no problem, no leaks, we drove it for about 2 miles and after we let off the gas we got LOTS OF SMOKE, it is defiantly oil burning. We checked the compression again and all is good, and the plugs show no sings of burnt oil. We have 20W50 in it as of right know to break it in. He had the same problem when he got the car back from sound performance the first time before the took it all apart, but that was on the old CT-26 and before we redid everything. All I can think of is it is either the turbo seal. Has any one heard of the relief valve in the oil filter housing getting stuck causing the oil pressure to get to high causing the oil to be pushed out the turbo seal. I'm loosing my mind with this thing, I just want to get it running so I can get it back to my friend. I'm going to call Tim at SP and see what he says. The Turbo is brand new and was primed right before starting.:1zhelp:
