O.k. so before you bash I have performed the awesome thread that is already on here about the awful "code 51" and I am still getting the code!
First off here are the basics about the car
'86.5 with a '93 2jz-ge 7m harness and ECU 5-speed
YES the a/c switch is off
YES it is in nuetral
After reading that thread I used the online TSRM to check the throttle position sensor with an ohm meter and it checked out o.k. I then checked the wiring and the harness looks to be in good shape with no cuts or tears, I then checked each wire on the TPS with an ohm meter from the plug point (on throttle housing) to the ECU side and each wire reads correctly and is lined up to the correct pin on the ECU and doesn't show any shorts.
I then used the TSRM to troubleshoot the wiring again just to be sure and throughout all of the throttle range all of the readings to the ECU are correct and accurate so I now know that the TPS and wiring is correct.
What could the issue be then to throw the code "51"?
When I press the a/c on button it lights up and when I press it again it turns the light off, so I assume that the switch is working order and that is not the issue.
So this would lead me to the a/c amplifier... correct? The TSRM doesn't give any further instructions on troubleshooting the code
Please help me erase this code so I can set the timing and be on my way!
