I am planning to do the foglight rewire to my 89 turbo supra. I was looking at the directions on how to do it and seems very simple, however one thing bothers me. It wants you to cut the the wires from the defroster and the foglight switch and then connect them together. Would my defroster still work if i do the job? My defroster works fine and I'd hate to find out that it doesn't work after I do this.

I haven't read the directions you are talking about. I have done an 87 and a 91. Both were the same. Maybe not the colors, but the process.

The headlight circuit powers and foglamp circuit. The lamps are on their own fuse, but not the relay.

You need to provide a power source of your choice, such as the dome light circuit under the dash, that is that green light. Or whatever. And then you have to provide a ground to the switch. The switch provides a ground to the relay. Don't mess with the lamp wiring itself.

I actually used one of the circuits in the fuse panel that wasn't labelled and didn't have a fuse in it, but I found that it was hot w/the IGN switch in the ACC or ON position (which means no danger of accidentally leaving them on w/the car off). I plan on using the same one for my stereo, with an in-line fuse of course.
