Stock pistons are good for a fiar amount of power. If your shooting for 500+ id look at weisco, JE and other forged brands!

There are also the ceramic top coated stock turbo pistons...if you can find them. My 7M cranked "JDM" came with a set. I'm sure they offer more thermal stability over stock uncoated but maybe not enough to hunt them down. :dunno: Just FYI.

Chance are hes not shooting for that kind of power. I bet the stock pistons are fine for his needs!

I agree. :icon_smil I was just adding that there are factory coated turbo pistons and depending on how common they are (I haven't really looked into that) might be a low cost option compared to forged slugs but offer more room for error than uncoated stockers.

If the Block has been acid dipped you will have to put all new freeze plugs and oil pump drive shaft bearings in it.

If you do, use Toyota freeze plugs...I had an after market freeze plug blow on me :3d_frown:

Coolant drained in a couple of minutes...what a mess! I was lucky it didn't trash my motor and they are a PITA to replace with the motor in the car!

I have CP's. If I didn't have the money to spend on those I probably would have gotten Wiseco's

Thanks for all the help on the pistons guys!I have another question. Is it ok to use the rods from the non turbo 7mge?If that is possible whats the difference between them and turbo? And what kind of hp can they hold and be fine?I'm keeping in mind maybe I wanna upgrade on the hp that that engine can hold.In the future I may want a bigger turbo kit.:biglaugh:
