I like my pinstriipe. I think it makes the car look longer and lower. I have a metallic blue color and the stripe is light blue. If I had to do it over I would have a black/gun metal stripe.

Usually a pin stripe is vinyl, not paint.

There were no factory pin stripes on Supras, they were dealer installed or done later by previous owners.

Turbo Targa, the trim on the doors, etc, is mounted in various ways, might want to start a new thread about that.

In any case, I prefer no stripe myself.

this was enough for me to swear them off forever, but dark colors might be a different story

I am getting my car repainted this winter also. I remember reading somewhere that some mk3 supra colors used lacquer paint. I think my 8G5 paint midnight blue metallic is one of them. I want an exact factory job so any info on supra factory paint or where to get it etc would be great.

Thanks
Geoff

For those who want to remove their pinstripe, heat it with a hair dryer before you start to remove it. Also, be warned that the paint under the pinstripe will be darker than the rest of your paint because it isn't oxidized or faded.
