i just got a new clutch and a the RPS 3200lb pp, but when you get those kits from their warehouse, they dont come with pilot or throw out bearings. or so they told me? so i was wondering what is a good brand to go with. and possibly where to get them at. i wasnt sure if OEM quality would be up to par since i am going with more performance. any help would be great. -Brian

autozone...HA. I had them special order the part since I forgot about it and they said it would be in the next day...it wasn't even close to being the right one. I'm getting a new one from Toyota.

Ok guys great for you all that recieved bearings. LOL

I bought the same clutch kit about a year ago. I had to replace the T/O bearing and pilot bearing.

Use OEM only. The quality is significantly better than that of aftermarket if you open up the bearing races. Most aftermarket races do not put enough bearings inside the cartridge! Belive me, I found that out myself. I spent $10 and bout a Autozone piece and when i pulled out the OEM piece (used ) you could tell emediately.

SUPER DUPER BIG TIME PS:

BUY NEW SNAP RINGS FOR THE T/O BEARING and CLUTCH FROM TOYOTA AS WELL!
I re-used my originals, BIG and EXPENSIVE mistake. They broke one week after I installed the clutch. Cost me an $80 tow. And $475 in labor and parts to get new snap rings and so on. ( I did not have enough time to tear out the engine and tranny again)....

So BUY NEW SNAP RINGS

This is why I recommended a Bearing Supplier as they will stock brand name bearings.

Usually alot cheaper than the OEM dealer as well!
I paid about $30 for my throw out bearing, about $20 for the snap/clip rings and about $10-15 for the pilot bearing.

Hmm... I reused the clips from the origional install. So far have held up fine for me, now I of course I would reccomend getting new ones and I would if I do it again. Just saying that they can hold up in situations other then simans.

Its one of those things were you "get it while its open".

Might as well replace them when the tranny is out. Less risk of that horrible feeling of having the clutch go to the floor and not coming up :)

stuck in traffic....

nearly getting hit by a mack truck in the median....

yeah, those are well worth the $20 for new ones.:icon_bigg
