Jay, you plan the Bama meets intil 2009-2010........then I will take over and have them at Alabama Motorsports Park in Mobile. I'm gonna try to get the Mobile folks together again soon. Looks like we might be able to get close to 15 Mobile area Supras together if I can get everyone togther at once. It's sad only 2-3 of us are on the internet.

As far I know, nothing has been done about the Alabama meet. Jay and I should talk. My thoughts recently have been more towards getting some sort of monthly thing going in the Mobile area.

Scott, I read your thread on SupraForums this morning. If you wasn't so far away, that would be pretty cool. Kind of like old timey barn raisings, we could have a supra work shop. Take turns helping each other repair broken supras..........:biglaugh: I think I'm fixing to do a 1jz swap in mine. I'm going to get a clip from Aaron at driftmotin. Kind of worried about getting it running, but I think Ican handle it...................:x: Aaron has promised to help with any and all questions. My phonebill to California may be the most expensive part of the build.

So what would the purpose of this 1J swap be????????????? You have a very respected, very powerful, very beautiful car! Why would you risk any of that on that car. Swap out the difficult motor in Vonda's car........or better yet, get that local car you talked about. Did you buy that whole car yet, or did you just get a transmission from it?

And now I must admit............Yes, I posted on SF.........but it was only a copy of what I posted here. I have to go to SF to keep up with the MKIV guys. 3 of those 14 people I'm trying to get together are MKIV's.

I've been hearing a noise in my motor. It could be the main bearing, but it sounds like a knock. The only thing is, it doesn't get louder when you rev it up, it goes away, or at least you can't hear it because of the fan. Anyways, when I bought my car I wanted a 1jz. I didn't have the guts to try and do the swap. Now I feel I can handle it. I was going to buy that other car, but I want it in my car. I'm going to have my engine bay painted, and hopefully a few engine parts painted the color of my car. I would have checked the noise in my car today, but it rained ALL DAY! I will definately keep you posted.

I know Kwnate will hate me. If I had his build I wouldn't even consider going 1jz, cause I know I'll never get 667 rwhp out of this 1jz. I plan on making about 350-400 rwhp. That's plenty enough for me. Hopefully Kwnate can look past this little engine swap and not try and take Vonda from me. He's not getting her without a fight, or at least a quarter mile race..................:biglaugh:

I was looking for 1jz swap material. I want to be as well informed as I can be. I have searched for someone saying something negative about their swap and can't find anyone. I have called and talked with a few people as well. They all say it was the best thing they've ever did for their car. I should have a really good phone bill this month. I've already had two long conversations with Aaron in Cali. You know, the guy that has www.driftmotion.com .............:biglaugh:

Hero, I am totally on board with whatever you decide to do. In many ways a 1J is a smarter engine to go with. (hopefully knowone figures out our little secret thread and flames me for that)
Anyway you are right to keep your car. You and I kinda think the same, (god help us) so I know your car is just to personal to sell. I could sell mine too and just buy a turbo car but the thought of someone else owning my car kills me. So we are both in the same boat, cars with way to much time and love invested.
Your motor problem could be the knock. If it comes on around 2k and goes away after 4k thats classic knock.
Anyway 1jz I think would be sweet. Just dont spend to much time over at that other sight. They dont have a Soup over there!!! And they never will!!!
