The rear speakers are Focal 8" coaxials, they sound amazing nice. The front speakers (not shown) are Image Dynamics 5-1/4" + tweet combo. It makes a great overal stereo for someone who doesn't want a ton of bass. I still plan on adding a subwoofer though.

I haven't really driven it too hard yet + I need to give it a few more turns to make it tighter, kinda tough to do in such a cramped space for a big guy like me... I'll let you know in a week or so :) Other people said it made a huge different with the targa off so that's what I'm hoping for.

It was an ebay unit, I had to cut the brackets down, and I had someone polish and chrome it.

Were you able to mount all four mounting points on that bar? Without all four you will not realize the full potential of that bar.

When I installed the Do-Luck bar (so many years ago now) I was shocked that Toyota acutally built in mounting points for that bar - they even made perforated sections in the carpet to knock out when installing the front bolts.

yeah i have ALWAYS wondered about that.... why did toyota put those there? they knew do luck was going to engineer something like that?

has TRD ever offered anything like the rear floor bar?

keith, i didn't mount the bracket in 4 places, only the 2 @ the seat belt bolt... i didn't even know there was another one? never pulled up the carpet to look. maybe i'll try that.... i imagine they'll have to pull everything out including the carpet, etc anyways when I get my body work done so maybe i'll just leave it as is for now.

brent - no vented battery box. it's an optima battery so it won't harm me by being in the car unvented, but i know you're going to say that it won't be allowed on the track, but really it's only temporary, same with how i mounted the amplifier... there are some major rust spots in the hatch, wheel wells, etc... i'm going to have the whole car stripped down to the frame and have it completely restored body wise probably over the winter months. eventually i have big plans to put a large subwoofer in there and custom make some nice panels and mount the battery more towards the right rear permanently.

jdub - i had a local car audio place make them... i'm really happy with the way they turned out, they only charged me $250 for labor and everything which i think is a very fair price....

Should just be able to remove the door sills and pull the carpet back to find the bolt holes - at least that's all I had to do.

possibly they were planning ahead for some type of reinforcement bar to be used in professional racing and decided to just put it in them all? Kind of like how they must have already had the 7mgte designed before 87 because my 86.5 has all the holes and such to mount the ic/ic pipes

Really? I didn't know that was possible! Thanks for the info, I'll definately Keep an eye out for that. Now I have a reason to buy a digital capacitor for my stereo ;)

There are so many holes in my hatch anyways it's practically vented back there. Litterally, there is a hole about 4" in diameter in each of my wheel wells. I can't wait to get my body work done.
