Well, I got another supra. I'm not going to post pics...YET.
Its an 86.5 N/A auto Hardtop. No sport package, no headlight squirters, no TEMS. It does however have an LSD.
I will post some pics of what it looked like when I got it, and what it looks like after I get it respectable looking. It is HORRIBLE right now.
The car has the chrome fender flare trims, and chrome door edge strips. It has two 6.5" walmart subs in a box with tweeters. It has purple tinted windows, and chrome floor mats in it. The front bumper has been sprayed black over the maroon, 1 tail light is broken, the hatch struts are completly dead, It HAD 16" 3 spoke chrome rims on it with no lip(the flat face ones).
The headlight switch is bad, you have to wiggle it to get the lights to come on. Fog lights are not working.
Now the reason I got the car.
The interior is PERFECT! It is light grey, and complete. The only thing wrong with the entire interior is the center console cover. Other than that, seats are perfect, dash- perfect, carpet perfect, door panels are great!
Reason 2 : Perfect Mechanical condition with 89,122 miles on it. The trans had a fluid flush last year, and was filled with new fluid and filter. The HG has never been changed, and the guy ran mobil 1 15W-50 in it since he got it, because that is what the last owner(1st owner) ran in it. It does not have a BHG, and the timing belt was changed 3 months ago(had reciepts from toyota), Water pump, thermostat, antifreeze, and radiator were also changed at toyota. New air filter, plug wires, plugs, and the diff oil was recently changed. Suspension is perfect, rides great. Car came with last years model pioneer premier cd/mp3 radio. Brakes were done all the way around 2 years ago, at toyota, and new rotors also installed on the front.
What I intend to do : Project Daily Driver
1 sand the whole car down, replace bondoed fender with fender from my 87 parts car. Paint car flat black primer.
2 Rip all the Chrome bullshit off.
3 I installed my stock sawblades, and gave him his rims back to get the price lower since I didn't want the shitty looking rims anyway.
4 Clean the engine up, replace valve cover gaskets(the ONLY oil leak), cold air intake
5 Remove interior, replace with my 88 turbo maroon interior. Put 86.5 Grey interior in 88 turbo
6 REmove the shitty sound system(other than CD player) and replace with quailty component speakers.
7 Fix hatch leak that I believe it has(no rust though!!!!)
So what do you guys think of my plan for the daily beater supra?
Total price paid.... $650 + a set of $40 tools from walmart to put in the trunk. Car ran perfect all the way home(a 95 mile drive)
