I thought I'd make a request thread for tutorials, as I have no life and plenty of time to do this crap, lol. If you want an effect or something explained post here, and I'll try to help the best I can,

I just had to make one up real quick for a guy over on SF, so I'll start with this one, which is pretty simple.

BW and Color Specific Image.
Open your picture, then go up to the top and click "layer" then "duplicate layer".

On that 2nd layer, desaturate it
p460876_2.jpg

p460876_3.jpg

Then go to your brushes, I like the softer ones for this kinda stuff
p460876_4.jpg

Erase the areas you want colored. And there you have it!
p460876_5.jpg

And for a more artisic effect, you can flatten the image, duplicate it and then gaussian blur it...
p460876_6.jpg

Got to the layers box and click on "overlay" and mess with the opacity

Simple Fading GIF Image

Open your pictures in PS, I am only using 2 pictures to make this relatively simple.

p460919_1.jpg

You will need to have a black background for this type of animation, so you need to open a new layer on one of the pics
p460919_2.jpg

Fill that layer with black.
p460919_3.jpg

Then you need to make a duplicate layer of the background and move it on top of the black layer
p460919_4.jpg

Put your other picture on top of the other... you should have 3 layers, the black, and the 2 different pictures.
p460919_5.jpg

Then open in ImageReady
p460919_6.jpg

In ImageReady, you need to have 2 toolboxes open, the layers box and the animation box
p460919_7.jpg

In the animation box, duplicate the original frame.
p460919_8.jpg

On each frame, you only need 2 layers open, the black layer and the picture layer, click the picture thats not to be shown like this
p460919_9.jpg

Now you need to set frame delay, usually no delay or 0.1 works good
p460919_10.jpg

Now you're going to go to the first frame in the animation box, and click TWAIN
p460919_11.jpg

You need to set it to "tween with: next frame" and then choose the number of frames to add, I chose 6
p460919_12.jpg

Refine this animation more by taking the 1st frame and sliding all the way to the end, twaining between the last frame and the 1st frame...
p460919_13.jpg

And then save as optimized, this file is 1MB :aigo:
p460919_14.gif

You can make the image smaller by going to IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE
p460919_15.jpg

This reduced my file size from 1MB to 282KB

sweet...

for those wondering, another way of making a pic black and white is to go to Image->Adjustments->Chanel Mixer, and then clicking on the "monochrome" box towards the bottom..(desaturation removes colors, monochromizing makes the pic black and white, big diff).

Try both, and see which you like the most..

OT for Tanya: love the stuff in your shop!
