whats up people i need someone with alot of expierience with the 7mgte, mine is dead and im swapping it out either this winter or early spring and i need someone in ct that wouldnt mind making a small drive to help me out. I would be more than happy to help you with your 7m. I am currently working on mine and it would have been done along time ago, but I keep upgrading and winter is coming so I don't really need her anyway. I am not an expert, but I have a lot of experience with cars and I will do my best to help you out. I wouldn't want money, beer is fine:icon_razz Letme know when you are planning on working on your car. I am at school right now, but I come home as often as I can get work off so if you give me a heads up then I should def. be able to make it. Hopefuly more people want to help because I need someone to tune my car perfect when it is all done!

ps-sorry I never got those wheels, I splurged on a rebuilt head, pnp with cams and now I am looking for wider wheels..maybe na or tt supra wheels if you know anyone with some.

not off hand but i will let you know, the car will be in eastford actually so thats right down the rd. What i will be doing to the car this spring is: jdm engine as is, spec stage 2 clutch, spec flywheel, 4.30 rear end and attach the new DP to my old exhaust that should be it but my main concern is taking out the old 7m and installing the new 7m with wiring and the fact that it is JDM so will be a little different. so hopefully it will be all good.

I have never installed a jdm motor into a toyota, but I have done a few hondas and they are close to usdm. there might be a few wires that need some work, but i can't imagine anything crazy. Just let me know whenever you plan on starting. I also have tons of tools to help, the only thing I do not have is an engine hoist, I have a engine stand though if you need to do any work on the motor while it is out.

If you need a garage and there is anyway you could bring it to tolland I am sure we could use my parents. Just an idea, or I could bring our portable one that I keep my car under in the summer time, and as soon as my car is running or I am back in ct I will let you know and you can come by and take a look or if it's running Ill come by your way.

Yeah I have been saving as much as I can, but I just keep buying new parts for my car every pay check. Oh well, hopefuly one day I will stop spending all my money on my cars, but that wont happen for a long time.

putting a JDM motor in a USDM supra is very straigt forward. here's some tips for you:

1) drill out the metal pipe behind the head, as it is a JDM motor, their heater core feeds from the opposite side (where ours is blocked off). you should drill it out and attach a NEW hose for the drivers side heater core there, and block off the part thats blocked off on the USDM motors.

2) you'll need to swap a FEW of the connectors for your USDM connectors. if i remember correctly, they're all 1-wire connectors, so it's pretty easy. make sure you SOLDER them, and shrink wrap them to prevent corrosion.

3) as with any motorswap in the supra, be very careful not to crush the passenger side heater core outlet. it's only copper and will crush very easily, making a heater core leak inside the cab. not fun .

4) it's much easier to pull the engine and tranny TOGETHER. this way when you drop the assembly back in, it follows the natural contour of the tranny tunnel. i will never pull a 7m without the tranny attached.

thats all i can think of right now. i just woke up a little while ago... damn night job.

How far from Springfield MA are you? I did a motor swap be for I sold my supra and it took me 4 hour to pull out the old motor and put in the new one. I for got to mention that it was a 7mge. But how hard can it be to put in a 7mgte with a little help from your friends? I am willing to help if your not that far. Rafael.

Tolland can't be more than an hour away. I am pretty sure it is closer to like 30-40 mins, but it depends on how you drive.

I may actually need some help if you have any time soon. I am getting my rebuilt head on weenesday and then I am trying to decide if I want to pull my motor and put in new bearings because I had a bhg, but I am not sure if it will need them because it didn't knock when I took her off the road, I just do not want to get it all together and have rod knock. I will get back to you when I get my head because then I will have abetter idea of when I will need some help. I just really need hlpd on seeing iI need knew bearings and I need help setting the timing and tuning it with my suprer afc. Besides that, it is all pretty easy. I will get back to you and sorry gmoney for hijacking, but you are now selling your car so it dousn't seem like you need any help any more.

Do you by chance have an engine hoist(cherry picker)? That is the only thing I need to get and I do not feel like renting one becuase it costs so much so if not then I will just buy one. I need to pull my motor to check my bearings and make sure no water got into my oil when my hg blew. I don't think it did, but I am always on the safe side when it comes to my cars. My neighbor has one of the old engine lifts but it doesn’t fold up and it’s too big to fit in my Nissan. I don't have an engine hoist. But I am thinking of buying one of the ones that fold up. If I do get one I'll hit you back. .

Yeah I am either going to just buy one from sears or get one off ebay then this week so I can get everything done once and for all. You wouldn't by chance be able to weld would you? I just need my greddy bov flange welded onto my hardpipes and I do not know how to weld, nor do I have a welder(hopefuly soon I will know how and have a welder though)
