For me this supra means a lot. The first three months of the build I was divorcing my cheating wife and during this hard time in my life this supra gave me an escape.

Fond a supra in craigslist in Feb 09 little details shown, just said "white, 89, convertible, auto $700." The farmer that sold it told me said it was his son's. His son left for Afghanistan in 04 and did not make it home alive. He said "Just take it, get it out of my sight." After years of hoping and planing I towed it home. My plans where to swap a 1JZ and a r154 and to keep it daily drivable.

First day home

trying to get the 7mge to run. I was going to beat the heck out of it but the neutral safety switch was broke, so I gave up.

Needs body work the paint was failing allover so I planed a repaint.

It had been siting under a open covered garage for years, I think starting in 03. The moss and lichen was now part of the paint.

March 09 I find a 1jz on craigslist for again $700. I later fond that it was very low miles, like just broke in low miles.

Everything done to the car from March till now was done by my hand alone. No one helped me with anything this is just how I wanted it, no real reason why.

I checked the turbos and replaced the y-pipe.

Tow it to my barn for the swap in march.

I work on small stuff wile waiting for parts.

7m out.

Believe it or not, I gave (as in free) this 7m to my wife's (we where still married at that time) boyfriend. I was trying to be nice, like the good guy I am. After I agreed to give it to him over the phone, I had two hours to fill every hole with sand. I knew who he was and she even came with him to pick it up. It is now in his MkII (not enough sand I guess)

This is the typical engine drop in pic. At least it looks that way, but I did all this work solo no extra hands, no help.

I used a dolly as much as I could then filled it in with filler.

In april the 1jz goes in.

The first ecu was bad, I had though that the jzz30 ecu was not as substitutable to capacitor failure as the jza ecu. I was wrong I opened it up and fond smelly jell on the circuit board.

The second ecu was dead as well, it took me weeks to find the problem and not starting the car had me testing and checking everything. I thought "no way two ecus are dead"
At one point I had spark, then I had no spark the next day.
My first startup was a little different than most. The ecu would not fire the injectors, so no fuel. But I had spark, so I took a small container of fuel and ran a hose from an unused intake port to the container. The vacuum from cranking the engine pulled the fuel up the hose, boom the car started real rich mix but it started and would run until I removed the line.

Modified my bumper for the huge IC.

A few week later I lost my job (In a nut shell) because Obama started taxing my company more they out sourced to India. So I was forced to cheap out and cut corners just finish the car.

In June I came across work with much lower pay, I could get the car painted.

After the paint before buff (cheap paint)

what paint is that?

It was a cheap acrylic lacquer SW old acme line, championship white with a pearl matte clear. The matte just does not hold up it scratches and marks up when anything touches it. The paint was not so bad it was the prep/time and the corners cut. Like I said I lost my career and was paying court costs. I'm not proud about the job so I'm redoing it has of two days ago.

Thanks for the compliments I'm trying to keep it clean, looking for wheels that will fall in to this category but it's hard when you know the offset you want and wide 9+in wheels.
