I know everybody on here uses Paypal. Thought I would share a little info. I got an email today saying my Paypal account was limited and I needed to do some things to get it corrected. I just used it a few weeks ago to pay 2 guys on here for Supra stuff. I opened an new browser window and logged in to Paypal and my account was fine. I checked the email again aind it was sent with the return email address as "service@paypall.com" I noticed the 2 "L's in paypall. I forwarded the email to Paypal's spoof address...but who knows how many millions of people this thing went to. My mother had these kind of problems a year ago and cancelled her Paypal account. I love it. It is the most simplistic way to pay for shit...but everybody needs to be careful.

Paypal can suck my balls with their excessive fees. But I just sit here and bend over and take it, because just like gas, its what everyone uses and we can't make a change! Nice looking out there with the email.

I use it all the time.

I ignore all emails from anything claiming to be paypal, however. To date I've gotten hundreds, possibly thousands of emails claiming to be from paypal, and I don't think a single one has been genuine.

The fees aren't that bad, to be truthful. If you run a merchant account for Mastercard or Visa, you get hit with fees as well - every time someone buys something, you have to pay your percentage to the CC company.

When it comes down to it, fees are required... nobody is going to provide you a service without getting paid.

thanks for the heads up.

Fees? I'm not sure I see them. I just use paypal for buying on ebay...where do fees come in? just advanced accounts?

Fees come in when you are receiving money... say you sell something to me for $40, which I send to you, paypal only gives you like $37.50 or so. Doesn't seem so bad, but over the two years I've used it, I've probably lost like $200 or more in paypal fees.

EVERY email you receive from PayPal regarding limited access is a Phishing scam. I forward every one directly to Spoof@PayPal.com

Fees are everywhere. Most people just bundle the fees into the base price (or the shipping). When you pay for gas with your CC the gas station has to pay a fee. Some stations even have different cash and credit pricing.

I purely hate the fact that it forces me to get verified. I do not want to give them any more information than they already have, and I want everything to run through my CC, not my checking account. They are trying to force me to get verified, yet my parents have never done any such thing.

Sigh, I can only spend $133.13 till no more paypal.

doubt that your aware of this, but all your information can be obtained thru your credit card info. Heck, you can even get somebodys info from just a license plate, or previous ticket. All by just walking up to your local sheriff/police department. Hmmmm crazy world we live in huh? :nono:

Either way, if they want it bad enough, there are quite a few ways to obtain it.

The sheriff won't give you anything if you walk in with a plate number and ask for someone's info.

PIs (private investigators) do it all the time. Besides that you can "be" somebody to get that obtained information.

Also i went to school with a guy that could literally see/ obtain any information he wanted thru your computer, told me its like a 5 minute ordeal if that. All in all, if your worried about just giving your credit card info to somebody especially paypal, they can obtain whatever info they'd like.

If you really want to be protective about your information. Send out money orders and you don't have to deal with it. Easy as that- just like one member mentioned earlier in this thread.

Honestly, the way am looking at it if they want your information, they can easily obtain it.

I click on the links in the fake PayLess & eSrew e-mails.
Off course they want me to sign in.
So I do with things like:
NigeriaSucks,
I_DidYourMother,
and my favorite, ScottlandYard_IsComing !

I do the same for people wanting to send me a money order for $3000 more than an item's price (I get these mostly on Craig's List).
I go along with it, but give them the local FBI address to send it to.
Then I call the FBI, and tell them they have a fake check headed their way.
They get a laugh over it.
