I guess I will make the dreaded introduction thread...
I have an interesting past and future to entertain you gents with, but beware it's quite long and slightly boring. Just skip to the end for the Supra part if you want.
It all began back in 2006 when I bought my first car, a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. I was always involved with racing, following it on the computer and playing video games non stop. I instantly began modding my Subie to have the best bang for the buck performance my poor N/A car could receive. I ran in the local autocross series in southern Arizona for about a year before I got rid of it. Quick mod list and some pictures:
- Perrin Lightweight Crankshaft Pulley
- 20mm Rear Swaybar
- H-tech lowering springs
- Borla Headers
- Custom 2.5" catless headerback exhaust with 2 18" resonators
- Custom intake to stock housing with K&N drop in.
- Big 3 Grounding Wires
- 06 Tailights
- Tinted Headlights
- 5% Window Tint
- 18" ICW 005 Rims with 235/45/18 Kumho Ecsta SPT Tires
- Rear Fenders rolled
- Tuned via OpenSource
- Set of Ingalls Camber installed in front
Then onto the beast. My 2004 Dodge SRT4. I bought the car with most of the modifications already done (huge mistake), and although it was extremely fast and tore the rubber off the front tires, it was not a daily driver at all. It also did not meet my suspension needs, but I was so bummed about the reliability I was never motivated to work on the handling. 12mpg and non reliability lead to my quick sale of my first dream car.

I was very involved with the SRT community since about 2005. I am currently a moderator of the Audio section over on www.srtforums.com, and one of my good friends is the Autocross/Road Race moderator. Being good friends with the Road Race mod as well as the One Lap of America SRT4 driver Douglas Wind, I became very involved with the road race world.
Here's a shot from the Nationals at the road course. Fun times.
That leads me to today. I daily drive an extremely fuel efficient motorcycle (35-45mpg) that can run 10s at the track and rip through the mountains on the weekend. I love having a reliable daily driver once again.
I have a serious lack of boost though, and my roommate being addicted to Supra's has not helped. I originally got him involved though, when I spotted a Mk3 shell about a year ago with rod knock and told him about it. It's worse now that he is now picking up a beautiful mint 92 Teal Supra Targa. I've always been a huge fan of the MK3s because of their rarity and unique look/performance. So naturally I began looking into the track ability of the Supra's. Although, from most of my research it shows most of the road course Supra's have been Mk4. Well, I know the Mk3 can compete at the same if not higher level than the 4s. I've already seen a few successful Mk3s on the forums for the short while being on here, and I plan on meeting and talking to each of those owners to make sure my future track car comes out perfect.
Anyways, I have some major goals in the future for a Mk3 I will later pick up. I plan on investing around $25,000 into a shell and a built 7m-gte block with an extreme amount of supporting modifications. I am hoping to get the car running for under $10,000 so I can invest the other $15,000 into suspension, handling, braking, and safety for the track. The overall plan involves a large time frame though, 2 to 4 years to make sure that everyone is done properly and no corners are cut. If it ends up costing more, than it is what it is and I'll make sure the money is spent for it to be done properly. It's going to be an extremely fun and time consuming project to basically build everything from the ground up by myself and with the help of local friends. But once everything is done, and the car is ready I will run in HPDE and NASA for at least one year. If everything checks out, and shows to be reliable I plan on running in the One Lap of America race each year along with the regional NASA TT races.
Well you know my life now, past, present, and future. I'll be around, mostly lurking for a few years while I slowly build my car from the ground up. Eventually though I hope you all will cheer on and support the mighty Mk3 Supra at road courses around the US. See ya guys around. :bigthumb:
