well should get the car back (yah! 2 months of waiting) and I have a new set of 16 inch 5 star rims im putting on. So I bought some nice rust protecting high heat red paint. My friend painted his brake pads blue on his rx-7 and they looked really good so I decide to do the same since u will now be able to c them threw the 5 star rims. has anyone else ever done this to the stock brake pads and have pics???

you meen brake CALIPERS, not the pads. you paint the pads themselves and i will laugh my ass off,

the calipers just need to be pulled, cleaned like no other and make sure theres no greesy sediment left after cleaning and paint a few coats on it, let dry halfway between sprays. and dont try to get it totally painted first time or you'll just bleed, spray an even stream once, it wont look totally red, you will still see the metal underneath, wait, spray a little coat on again, repeat.

the more patience you have the better.

I'm assuming you are going to paint the calipers too. Not sure what it would look like since you don't see too much of the pad anyway. You could really get away with only painting the outside one on each wheel. :icon_bigg

plus the fact that youll lose just a little bit of stopping power...yeah, make sure you clean the calipers really really good, maybe even take a toothbrush (old one) to em to get all the dust and grit off.
