Long story short-On the way to work check engine light comes on so when I get to work I check my codes and I need O2 sensor. Onto the meat of this post. Well I was under the car about to change the O2 sensor when I remembered that I have a Pacesette header and the sensor would need to be lenghtened and I had never done it before (The header was on the car when I bought it.) so I wanted to ask what kind of wire and connectors should I use to create the extra length?

Also while I was under there I remembered reading the the O2 sensor location on the Pacesetter piece was not optimal for the best readings and that it need to be moved up, but I am not sure exactly how far. I was thinking that right after the collecter, where the two pipes become one, would be the best spot. What do you guys think? If anyone is running the pacesetter let me know if you changed the location.

I also remember reading that the down pipe on pacesetter is to narrow (I believe it is 2 in. diameter correct me if I am wrong.) and should be increased to a larger diameter. Has anyone done this and if so what were the results. I personally thought about going with a 3" piece. Thanks for anyinfo or feedback!!

Okay I went to the muffler shop to have the O2 sensor location changed, but we ran into a little problem. It seems that Toyota is the only company that uses O2 sensors that are held in place with a flange and 2 bolts, so the guy at the shop suggested that I purchase a universal single wire screw in type Bosch O2 sensor. Is there anywhere I can purchase a Toyota style O2 sensor bung so I will not hae to use an aftermarket O2 sensor or should I just take the guys advice and use the universal sensor? Need feedback on the last few posts please!!

dude, 3 inches would be tight. but you hsve to go 3 inch from the manifold
MY 91 is stock and I wnt and put a 14inch glass pack on and I love it, It's the least of my worries right now. I'm going to do a power terring pump to replace on the soup next week. GO with the pieces that leave the most bulge in your pocket.

I'm curious to know the answers to these questions as well, especially about the o2 sensor bung...

go to mkiiitech and search. napa has a part to use a screw in type o2 sensor with the stock toyota flange.

as for extending the o2 sensor wires, it isnt rocket science. go to radio shack, get the appropriate guage wires, some heat shrink tubing and warm up that soldering iron.

I don't want to use a screw in type. I want to find a flanged bung to weld in so I can use the factory O2 sensor.
