I come from a land down under
at the Toyota Dealership today :D

Hi, Are you competitive for a good customer?

We can be, what do you need?

Nothing yet but I have a 91 Camry. After the alcohol interlock has been fitted I plan to start using it. I am on welfare and plan to use the car to collect hard rubbish and try to sell it at a profit. People buy that you know. I wont be using it much but will need a good price for parts, also when I get a girlfriend I want to take her to the drive-in.

I suggest you take the rubbish out first.

Had me almost in tears!

I had no idea what you were talking about, Ian, but I searched. ;)

all unwanted scrap metal hard rubbish items including:
whitegoods, photocopiers, computers, airconditioners, roofing iron, stoves, fridges, microwaves, iron beds, sheds, steel & cast iron baths, electrical appliances, cooking equipment, bikes, tools, car parts, engines, transmissions, panels, complete car bodies, steel benches, pipes, clothes lines, trampolines, gym equipment, steel drums, sheet metal, wheels, metal ironing boards etc.

So this guy plans on using a 91 Camry to haul around transmissions, stoves, trampolines...etc and also take his future g/f out on drive-in dates?

Sounds high class to me. :sarcasm: Without the Aussie word queues I would have guessed this guy was from the southern states.

LOLing here for real ya got it in one ;)

He was a genius!

Obviously lost his licence for drink driving so as a condition to get it back he has to have an interlock fitted that won't let the car start if he's drunk....

A phone conversation went along the lines of

Do you have this panel?

Yes it's $240 in stock and the correct colour

But xx wreckers has one for $200

But you'd have to paint that one.

But the wrecker is cheaper so it's a better deal.

They're coming out with the MKV Supra?

That's an opinion, but not one I share. My understanding is that Toyota is making a sporty hybrid, and are nicknaming it the Supra MkV, even though the production vehicle won't be called that.

IMO, if it's not a performance car, it's not a Supra, regardless of what they name it.

I know this is a bit off topic, and it’s not something that happened in a Toyota dealer, but I just thought I’d share this one with you guys…

Back in the early-mid 90s when I was driving my MK2 P-Type as a daily driver, I was dating a woman named Cyndi. Despite being highly independent, she asked me to change the oil in her old Oldsmobile, and asked me what I was going to need to change the oil for her. The problem was, Cyndi wasn’t exactly the “sharpest tool in the shed.”When I tried to tell her the weight oil I’d need, as well as how to look up the specific oil filter for her car, she got confused and told me to go along with her to the auto parts store. So we went to the Autozone that was closest to my house, where I was a regular customer. She insisted on doing all the talking when we went into the store. When we went into the store, the guy that waited on us was a guy by the name of Steve, whom I’d talked to many times before. I knew Steve had kind of an off-the-wall sense of humor, and I knew when he waited on us that this could be a problem. Nonetheless, Cyndi insisted on doing the talking, so I let her do so.

She said she needed oil so I could change the oil in her car. So Steve asked her what kind of car she drove. Cyndi told him-and I quote-“A brown one.” Steve looked at me, then back at Cyndi, kind of grinned and asked “What kind of brown one?” Cyndi looked at him and said-I swear-“A four door.”

Steve looked at Cyndi and said, “Well, you’re in luck…we have LOTS of oil for brown four doors!”

I wouldn’t have believed this story if I hadn’t been there to see it for myself. And even though it wasn’t something that happened at a Toyota dealership, it’s one of those stories I just HAD to share with all of you…
