Overdrive light blinking????

Ok so the other day speedomiter cable broke and it was fine while I drove it home. I went out the next day and the light was blinking (didn't notice it the night before), anyways so it starts to blink it shifts into overdrive fine but when it starts blinking the engine light comes on is this coincidence or does this mean I need to look at the tranny for problems.

It means there is s code stored in the transmission ECT computer.. You can check codes just like checking engine codes with the ECT computer.. But it is going to come up with a No.1 speed sensor code because your speedo cable broke
